I'm an artist, writer, and a photographer. I live off of music and citrus green tea. Late night runs to Art Six and laughing about absolutely nothing with my roommate and friends.

When I die, I'll have been made of the people I've loved and lost. I give a piece of myself and in return, some will give back, some won't. I'd rather have given it all then have given nothing.

Time flies when you're having fun!

Tuesday, May 19, 2009, 12:47 AM CST [General]

Wow, so here's the recap of the past two months that have flown by so freakin fast!

First off, for those wondering, I am feeling great since I had my surgery in March. For awhile, I had to watch what I ate, because certain things like dairy and spicy foods made me pretty sick, but beyond that, I am back to fighting shape, only minor phantom pains but nothing significant. Yay for a full recovery!

Secondly, about two weeks after my surgery I was hired on at Rudys BBQ and was able to quit the hell hole that was Kroger. I am really enjoying my job at Rudys, even if its not always easy or fun, it's so much better than Kroger. I keep busy and enjoy the people I work with.

Scarby started and has flown by SO quick its not even funny. Seems just like yesterday I was getting ready for nearly all of the McLotofUs clan and my faire-family to head up for Opening Weekend, now I'm preparing to see everyone for Closing. :[

I've met some really incredible people and become even closer to some others. TRF in the Fall is going to be incredible, being that I can afford to go. *crossing fingers*

My birthday was Saturday, the 16th and I had an incredible day minus the rainy weather. Again, thanks to everyone who came to my birthday toast and an even bigger thank you to everyone who went behind my back and gave Gretchen money so that I could go and pick out my hat. I absolutely love it and cannot wait to wear it next weekend!!

Other non-faire related news, if all goes according to plan I shall be moving into my own apartment in August. I made the decision to come home to my parents for the summer so that I could just work a lot and try and get some money put away. My friend Kelli and I found a nice place a block from campus and closest to the Art Building so I'm very excitedly awaiting to start finding furniture for it.

Life has been so incredibly busy, its hard to slow down sometimes. I've been really blessed in the past few months with some good friends that have been there for me through some really rough patches. Things are getting better and I'm finally able to stop and just breath and realize how beautiful this part of my life is.

I'll be out at Scarborough all three days for Closing this weekend so if holler at me if you see me! Should be crashing either at the Super 8 or the Best Western right next door so if you're around, come say hi!

    Take care until next time!

    Surgery and recovery

Thursday, March 12, 2009, 09:29 PM CST [General]

Just wanted to keep everyone updated.

I attended North Texas Irish Festival on Sunday and had a wonderful time. I will upload my photos from that soon, I hope...or at least tomorrow if I'm feeling better. Had a lovely time, ran into Sir Robert and Sir Randolph, such a pleasure always, my friends.

Very early Monday morning, I awoke in intense pain around my stomach area, which had happened in the past but not for almost a month. I had thought that when I was diagnosed with a UTI and other things, that it had been solved. Turns out it was not and my friend took me to Presbyterian of Denton, where they did an ultrasound and found that I had gallstones. A surprise, no doubt! My Mom came rushing up, making a 35-45 min trip in nearly 22. The doctor sent us to a surgeon because they wanted to get my gallbladder out sooner than later due to the risk of infecting my pancreas and eventually leaving me with chronic pancreitis.

Got everything taken care of at school, took a midterm early and scheduled to get another taken as soon as I get back, as luckfully for me, my Spring break is this coming week.

Had the surgery this morning, it went really well, the surgeon said and my first experience being put under was not bad at all. I don't care for the after effects but I didn't feel a thing, nor do I remember anything after being wheeled into the OR.

I'll be recovering for the rest of the week and almost all of my Spring Break at my parents place so any plans for going to Four Winds again have been cancelled. I'm completely ok with that though, as I need the rest.

Take care and looking forward to Scarby coming up quick!

This is Dafid The Poet. Check the Lemon Chill Booth in the Crown Meadow for 2010. I had to lay out for 2009 because of back surgery. I'll be there this coming year, I'll bet.

    See you there,
